Soccer Experience hosted
the
inaugural Tenerife International Soccer Masters weekend of
football, held in Adeje, Southern
Tenerife over the first
weekend of December, 2007. Ten teams from Tenerife,
Scotland/Ireland and an All-Star team featuring Liverpool FC
legend Bruce Grobbelaar, Ex-England International Mark
Walters and Leicester hero Ali Mauchlen competed over the
2-day tournament

The
Soccer Experience All-Star team was privileged to have

Justin Elkington and Tony Fryars flew in from the USA,
and John Given came in from Scotland to join ranks with
the above superstars and Soccer Experience's very own
director of soccer, Martin Tierney.

Brazilian Jocks and Escocia flew in from
Scotland/Ireland to combine 2 days of competitive soccer
with 4 days of even more competitive drinking for
groom-to-be Donald!
Local team hopes were spearheaded by
teams from Tenerife Sur and The Cally, who managed to pull
together at least 4 teams between them.

The 10
teams in the tournament split into 2 groups of 5
for the Day 1 qualifiers. The
top 3 of each group progressed to Day 2 for the Main
Tournament, while 4th and 5th of the groups played out
for the Plate Competition.

|
The
standard of football was high throughout, and almost
every game was competitive and close. The quality of the
playing surface was outstanding, and the tournament ran
smoothly throughout due to sterling efforts from
Marianne Tucker, John Given and their team of helpers.

The
weekend was rounded off with an awards ceremony and Q&A
session with the stars at the Caledonian Bar.
